Create your "Scene"

In OBS, a "Scene" is a set of input sources for what will eventually go into the recording. For example, you will probably want to capture your desktop, so you'd need to add "Display Capture" source to your scene.

You start with a default, empty scene called "Scene":

Notice that there are no sources listed in the "Sources" column. Click on the + symbol to add "Display Capture".

This dialog will come up asking you to name the source (since you can re-use them with the same settings from scene to scene). The default is probably fine - just hit OK.

Next, you'll see the properties for the Display Capture source you just created. Make sure you've got the right display (if you have multiple) selected in the dropdown, and then hit OK. Make sure you have Show Cursor checked, as we'll probably want to see what it's doing during the demo.

So now you've got your display as a source. That's a great start, but we'll probably want to hear you talking too, so you're going to need to add an Audio Input Capture source.
